"We feel very lucky in our choice of Wildcat Cliffs Country Club as our North Carolina home. It was chosen because of the golf course, the fitness centre and the welcoming attitude of the members. Since then the golf course has been improved along with the fitness centre and we have deepened our friendships with our Wildcat members. There truly is not a friendlier club in the Highlands area or more satisfying golf course."

"Shortly after moving to Sarasota for retirement, we started looking for a cooler place to spend the summers. We rented a home in a nearby country club for a month in 1998 and really enjoyed the Highlands area. We managed to play a round of golf at most of the area country clubs and thought Wildcat Cliffs' golf course best suited our interest for a well manicured gentle mountain course with spectacular views. We were informed about Wildcat members being friendly, but were skeptical about that for an older country club. We found an older home in Wildcat Cliffs and joined the Club. Our biggest surprise was meeting so many genuinely friendly people who made us feel so comfortable and part of the family. We may have joined the club for the cool weather and nice golf course, but our many friendships and wonderful lifestyle will keep us here for the duration."

"Harry and I are members of two clubs in Brevard County, Florida, where we've resided for 35+ years. We joined Wildcat Cliffs in 2002. Now we know more members, have more friends (and fun) at Wildcat than we do here (in Brevard County, Florida), even combining the two clubs. We're happy to be with our Wildcat Family."

"Wildcat Cliffs has been a major part of our lives for over 40 years. While the golf course and other physical amenities are unsurpassed, it is the members, staff and family friendly attitude that makes it extra special. Wildcat really excels with the wide variety of events they offer the membership. One of our favorites is the Camp Wildcat Family Reunion. For two amazing days every summer, Wildcat Cliffs becomes a haven for families with children and grandchildren. Memories and friends are made that last a lifetime and we cherish every minute."

"Besides having a user friendly golf course at 4200 feet above sea level, Wildcat Cliffs Country Club offers two very unique features: no tee times and an Associate Membership (under the age of 60). So in 1996, we joined and found out a third perk existed....WCCC membership is one of the most friendly of any club I have ever been part of. Everyone is so caring! A WIN WIN!"

"Having been members for three years, we still can not believe the openness and welcoming nature of the club. There was considerable concern initially that we might encounter the traditional pretentious or 'clickish' attitudes that so often are embraced in a country club. To our joy, we have been welcomed with open arms and have found Wildcat Cliffs to be a place where it would virtually be impossible to not make friends.
There is a firm commitment amongst the membership to serve the needs of all members and to maintain each of the club's facilities in a first class manner. Wildcat Cliffs has become a most integral part of our 'mountain home community'."

"Wildcat Cliffs Country Club has become a very special place for us. We have a house just outside of the town of Highlands and every time we come through the gates of Wildcat Cliffs, we feel we are coming home. We enjoy the golf, fitness centre, swimming pool, library and the gorgeous mountain views while we eat lunch or have a drink on the terrace of the clubhouse. But what really sets this Country Club apart from any other club that we have experienced is the incredible friendliness of each and every member. It is like there is a club rule that if you see someone you don't know, you are expected to go up to them and introduce yourself. All of us who are part of the wonderful place think of it as Wildcat Cliffs Country Club's version of what 'mountain warmth' is all about."

"Early in my career, I traveled quite extensively in the South and fell in love with the southern hospitality and the mountains. After retiring, I searched golf magazines for relatively new places that had established a reputation for a good golf course and a quality of life that my wife, Sally, and I looked forward to enjoying. As luck would have it, one of the places was less than ten miles from a former boss who had retired more than twenty years before me to Wildcat Cliffs. We 'dropped in' to see them and ended up driving around the club. During our quick tour, Jim (my former boss) stated that Wildcat Cliffs was the most fun and friendly club that he and Ibby, his wife, had ever belonged to. After Sally and I left and looked at the remaining places on our list, I commented to Sally that Jim Lierman is one of the most fun and friendly persons I know and we need to go back to Wildcat Cliffs and take a closer look. We did and it is one of the best decisions that Sally and I ever made. Jim could not have been more correct in his description of Wildcat Cliffs. It is the most fun and friendly place we have ever joined and we are glad we did it!"

"Wildcat Cliffs not only has fabulous country club facilities but is also a true family of members. They enjoy playing and having fun together and are also 'close knit' and caring with open arms to those who care to join."

"After an exhaustive five year search for just the right mountain locale, all roads seemed to return us to Wildcat Cliffs. High elevation, great scenery, close to just about everything, solid infrastructure outside the gates, numerous amenities, abundant activities, not to mention warm fellowship and a caring Wildcat community. We have not been disappointed. If you want someplace that is financially solid and soundly managed, where you can play great golf courses, hike and enjoy the outdoors, garden, boat or do whatever, Wildcat Cliffs is the place. We enjoyed our first couple of years so much, we recently moved her full time!"

"Thirty-five years ago, Veda and I were invited for a round of golf and dinner. LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT DOES HAPPEN!! This visit made a dramatic change in our lives. We later bought a two bedroom cottage next door to our friends. Of course, we were impressed with the view. Right away, we knew we would have to have a place to play golf. We were impressed with Wildcat's Clubhouse and the golf course, but all the other clubs were proud of these same features. It was the membership that caught our attention. Everyone seemed to like each other and we were greeted and welcomed by everyone. Never had we been exposed to such a friendly group. Right away we know this was where we wanted to be. We readily found that these genuine friendships and camaraderie carried over to golf, tennis, bridge games plus all the other social events. To this day, it is the most comfortable mountain course in the area to play and the limited 275 membership allow us the luxury of no tee times. Buying our little house and joining Wildcat Cliffs are the two best investments we ever made. We also have been blessed with the same General Manager for over twenty-five years. Like good wine, he improves with time. So, in short, what makes the membership so special? The members!!!"

"We were introduced to Wildcat Cliffs by close friends and mentors in St. Petersburg, Florida. When we visited with them in Wildcat and Highlands, we knew this was where we wanted to build our vacation home. After Jim retired, we discovered that we so like the quiet pace and friendliness of folks here that in time, we chose to make this our permanent home. We enjoy our involvement in community activities such as our church, the Highlands/Cashiers Hospital board, Rotary, Leadership Highlands, the Fine Arts Center, gardening and our local quilt guild. Each year the number of Wildcat members who are here after the "season" is increasing. The Wildcat family is a wonderful addition to the community as a whole and we are known as 'the friendliest club in the area'. Our golf course is challenging, but friendly. Our new fitness centre is state of the art. Our clubhouse and varied club activities offer more delicious food, fun and functions than anyone can desire. And did we mention the friendly members? After more than seven years as full time residents, we can truthfully say that the only thing better than being a summer Wildcat Cliffs resident is being here all year."
